Financial Aid Fraud Detection

In the fall of 2011 the Department of Education issued a “Dear Colleague” letter to higher education institutions warning them about an alarming rise in cases of fraud rings enrolling so called “Straw Students” at colleges and universities across the country. These “Straw Students” were only enrolling long enough to accept a financial aid disbursement in the form of a check or debit card and then they would drop out — in many cases only to enroll in another school not long after.

It is estimated that billions of dollars worth of federal student aid are misappropriated each year. iDatafy® has created StudentReview® to help thwart the efforts of financial aid fraudsters so that deserving students can get better access to available aid.
